White Tower Unveiled  (Tor Alva)     May 20th, 2025

The White Tower (Tor Alva) in Mulegns was officially unveiled in a ceremony on May 20th, 2025. During the event, a helicopter dramatically lifted the protective membrane from the tower, revealing the 3D-printed structure to the public for the very first time. Visitors ascended the tower, exploring its intricate design, before reaching the soaring cupola theater, where they were treated to panoramic views of the Alpine landscape.

Designed by architects Benjamin Dillenburger and Michael Hansmeyer, Tor Alva is a vertical enfilade consisting of six floors. These abstract, atmospherically dense spaces range from dark and enclosed rooms at the bottom to light and airy ones on top.

At 30 meters in height, Tor Alva is the tallest 3D-printed structure in the world. Set in the remote village of Mulegns in the Swiss Alps, the White Tower hosts music and theater performances and acts as a beacon for the region. The White Tower's central design element consists of 32 branched Y-shaped, 3D-printed columns. Each column has a unique system of ornament consisting of larger undulating ribs and a smaller material-driven texture.
